Mit der Verlängerung um sechs Monate bis zum 31. Dezember 2025 sendet die Bundesregierung ein klares Signal an die Mitarbeiter der PCK-Raffinerie in Schwedt. Diese Maßnahme ist Teil des Engagements von Rosneft Deutschland GmbH (RDG) und RN – Verfeinerung und Marketing GmbH (RNRM) für den Standort gemäß dem Energieschutzgesetz (EnSiG).
Vize-Kanzler und Bundesminister für Finanzen Lars Klingbeil betont: «Unser Hauptziel ist es, Arbeitsplätze zu sichern und zu schaffen. Wir unterstützen die Mitarbeiter der PCK-Raffinerie und bekennen uns klar zum Standort in Schwedt.»
Bundesministerin für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz Katherina Reiche fügt hinzu: «Die Sanktionen gegen russisches Öl haben die PCK-Raffinerie vor Herausforderungen gestellt. Dennoch ist sie von großer Bedeutung für die Sicherheit der Energieversorgung und als Arbeitgeber in der Region. Unser Ziel ist es, der Raffinerie und den Mitarbeitern eine stabile Zukunft zu bieten.»
Die Verlängerung der Beschäftigung ist Teil eines Gesamtpakets für ostdeutsche Raffinerie-Standorte und -Häfen, das darauf abzielt, die Sicherheit der Energieversorgung und die Modernisierung der Infrastruktur zu gewährleisten.
Das zukünftige Paket umfasst auch Investitionsprojekte zur Stärkung der wirtschaftlichen Infrastruktur in der Region. Ein zentrales Projekt ist das Schwedter Labor-Startup, das innovative Impulse für die Wirtschaft vor Ort setzen soll.
Die Taskforce Transformation der Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Unterstützung der regionalen Entwicklung in Schwedt und Uckermark. Sie fördert Investitionsbereiche, die zur Schaffung von Mehrwert und Arbeitsplätzen beitragen.

The measure is part of the future package for East German refinery sites and ports, introduced in September 2022. On the one hand, the future package aims to maintain the safety of the population and the crude oil economy. On the other hand, the measures are intended to contribute to the creation of the basic elements for a modernization traction at the sites and ports of East German refineries.
The future package is now being demonstrated in many areas. Numerous investment projects have been initiated under a special program of the joint task «Improvement of the regional economic structure» (GRW) for East German refinery sites and ports – especially to strengthen the economic infrastructure – have been successfully launched.
Another key project is the Schwedt Laboratory Startup, which sets new impulses for the culture of innovation in the region. On May 7, 2025, the participants were introduced in the first start-up challenge. The start-up lab aims to strengthen the economic dynamics on the site by supporting future business ideas.
The Taskforce Transformation, configured by Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), also plays an important role in regional development. It is actively involved in the development of relevant investment areas by the city of Schwedt and the Uckermark district, among others. This is an important prerequisite for future added value and good jobs.
